Client Responsibilites
As a client of Providence Home Care, L.L.C, you have the following responsibilities:
- Treat others with dignity and respect and honor their privacy.
- Follow your doctor/ psychiatrist/therapist, listen to their suggestions and follow them.
- Sign a release of information for what can be shared and with w h o m it can be shared with.
- Ask staff to help them practice their religion/ spirituality.
- See that your activities do not hurt yourself or someone else, and do not violate someone else's rights.
- Follow the law and act in a safe manner and communicate appropriately.
- Make safe and healthy decisions about your life.
- Tell someone you trust if you are being hurt or mistreated, or if you see someone else being hurt or mistreated.
- Tell the truth about situations where you believe your rights have been violated.
- Pay your bills and live within your financial means, budgeting for necessities before spending money on non-essentials.

Treat Others with Dignity and Respect
Clients are expected to treat staff members, fellow clients, family members, and others with courtesy, kindness, and respect at all times. Everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and respected regardless of their background, beliefs, or personal circumstances. Respecting the privacy and personal space of others helps create a positive and supportive environment for all.
Follow Medical and Mental Health Recommendations
Your doctors, psychiatrists, therapists, and healthcare providers are important members of your care team. Clients are encouraged to listen to medical advice, follow treatment recommendations, attend appointments, and take medications as directed. Following professional guidance helps support your health, safety, and overall success in reaching personal goals.
Authorize Appropriate Communication
Clients are responsible for signing release-of-information forms that identify what information can be shared and with whom it may be shared. This helps Providence Home Care communicate appropriately with family members, healthcare providers, case managers, or other support professionals while protecting your privacy and confidentiality.
Request Support for Spiritual or Religious Needs
Providence Home Care respects each client’s religious beliefs, spiritual practices, and personal values. Clients are encouraged to communicate their spiritual or religious needs and request assistance from staff when support is desired. We strive to honor and respect each individual’s beliefs and traditions.
Maintain Safe and Respectful Behavior
Clients are responsible for ensuring that their actions do not place themselves or others at risk of harm. Activities or behaviors that violate another person’s rights, create unsafe conditions, or disrupt the well-being of others are not permitted. Maintaining a safe environment is essential for both clients and staff.
Follow Laws and Communicate Appropriately
Clients are expected to follow all local, state, and federal laws while participating in services provided by Providence Home Care. Appropriate communication, respectful language, and cooperative behavior are expected in all interactions with staff, other clients, and members of the community.
Make Safe and Healthy Life Decisions
Providence Home Care encourages clients to make responsible decisions that support their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Clients are encouraged to work toward healthy routines, positive relationships, and personal growth while using available support systems and resources.
Report Abuse, Neglect, or Mistreatment
Every individual has the right to feel safe and protected. Clients are encouraged to speak up and tell someone they trust if they are being hurt, neglected, mistreated, or taken advantage of in any way. Clients should also report if they witness another individual being harmed or mistreated. Providence Home Care takes all concerns seriously and is committed to protecting the safety and rights of those we serve.
Be Honest About Rights Concerns
If you believe your rights have been violated or you have concerns about your care or treatment, it is important to communicate honestly and openly about the situation. Accurate information helps ensure concerns can be reviewed fairly and addressed appropriately. Providence Home Care is committed to listening respectfully and working toward positive resolutions whenever concerns arise.
Practice Financial Responsibility
Clients are responsible for paying bills, managing finances responsibly, and budgeting for essential living needs before spending on non-essential items. Developing healthy financial habits helps support long-term stability and independence. Staff may provide guidance or resources when appropriate to help clients improve budgeting and financial decision-making skills.
